Description: Laser Telephone Receiver
The laser receiver
provides an alternative to the standard conventional telephone receiver. A laser
transmitter composed of a light modulator or a voice diaphram with mirror attached is
focused on the Photodioder D1 above. The modulated or vibrated light is sensed by the
photodiode. The above circuit than changes the modulations or vibrations into sound
heard through the speaker or earphone.
U1A is a LM124 opamp
used in photovoltaic mode to convert the impinging light into voltage. U1B further
amplifies the input signal to provide sufficient amplitude into the audio amp section
using a simple one transistor amplifier Q1.
